

This kit requires no infusing or steeping.
- 1 750ml bottle of red wine, Zinfandels, Merlots, Syrah/Shiraz, or Grenache tend to work best
- The entire peel of 1 orange
In a 4-qt saucepan, boil 1 1/4c water. When the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium-high and add the entire contents of the jar. This is the simple syrup for the glühwein.
Add the orange peel. Stir occasionally until all sugar is completely dissolved. Turn the heat off and pull saucepan away from the burner.
Add 1 bottle (750ml) of red wine.
When serving, top with a splash of rum or amaretto.
